Having a sim card on your name, but not under your use can lead to a problem. Before any bad thing happens, cancel the sim registered on your iqama, as soon as possible.
There are three ways to deactivate a sim;
- Visit the nearest STC, Zain, Mobily, Virgin, Lebara, Jawwy, Go, Salam, or Redbull’s customer care centers
- Call the Helpline
- Use the Mutasil portal and register an online complaint to CST
Method 1
Cancel The SIM by Visiting Mobile Network’s Office
All cellular companies, including Mobily, Zain, STC, Virgin, Go, Salam Lebara, etc., have customer service centers that are bound to cancel their network’s SIM upon request.
Visit the office and tell the representative you want to deactivate the SIM. However, know the SIM number registered on your iqama before the visit.
Tell the SIM number and represent your iqama for the cancellation procedure. The SIM will be canceled within 24 hours.

Note:
The cellular company can also re-issue the sim if you want to use it instead of cancelation.
Method 2
Call The Helpline To Deactivate The Sims
You can also call the helpline of the cellular companies to remove and deactivate sims registered on your iqama.
The call representative will verify the required information and start the sim cancellation process.
The helpline numbers of the cellular networks operating in Saudi Arabia are as follows;
- STC Helpline: 900 / 114-555-555

- Mobily Helpline: 1100 / 0560-101-100
- Lebara Helpline: 1755 / 057-600-1755
- Friendy Helpline: 166-000 / 057-116-6000
- Virgin Helpline: 1789
For Mobily Customers
If you use a Mobily SIM, dial 1100 and press the following codes to talk to a customer representative about removing it from iqama.
- For Complaints, Press 9
- To register New Complaints, Press 1
- Select Complaints About Voice Services by Pressing 1
- For sim cancelation, press 4
The sim will deactivate in 5 working days.
Method 3
File a Complaint on Mutasil Portal
On the Mutasil online platform, you can cancel any cellular company’s sim registered under your iqama.
Procedure:
- Visit the Mutasil portal
- Log in by using the Nafaz or Absher credentials
- Under E-Services, select Telecom Complaints Escalation and click on the Start button.
- Select the Mobile network operator
- Select the options as follows:
- Was the ticket presented to the service provider: Yes
- Ticket on behalf of someone else: No
- My Numbers: Select the sim number you want to cancel from the drop-down list.
- Ticket number of the service provider: Enter the ticket number you received from the company
- Click on the “Continue” button
- Enter short details about the issue
- Click on “Submit”
- CST will issue a Request Number. Keep and save it
In a few days, you will get a response from CST about the status of the sim cancelation.

What To Do If Sim Doesn’t Cancel After 15 Days.
After raising a complaint, CITC requires every cellular company to cancel, deactivate, close, and remove the SIM from Iqama within 15 working days.
However, it can happen the sim is still under your name even after 15 days of the cancellation procedure.
If the complaint is not resolved within the given period, you can contact CITC and, provide the Request Number to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
How To Transfer Sim To A Friend
If a family member or friend uses a SIM, you can transfer the number under their iqama instead of canceling it.
Procedure
To transfer the sim:
- Visit any nearest office along with the transferee person.
- Ask the customer representative to change the ownership of the SIM and transfer it to the other person.
- Ask the company’s representative to issue the sim.
Within a few hours, the transfer procedure will be completed
