Saudi Arabia announces the travel ban for citizens and residents coming from UAE, Afghanistan, Vietnam, and Ethiopia, According to a statement issued by the Saudi Press Agency citing the Ministry of Interior.
An official in MOI, Ministry of Interior, told that Government took the decision due to the concerns over the spread of Covid-19 in these countries and to make sure health safety of its citizens and residents. The above countries are facing the spread of a new muted strain of the Coronavirus.
The flights to and from the above countries are going to halt from Sunday, July 4 at 11 PM, the ministry announced. Anyone who arrives after the due date will have to adopt for institutional quarantine of 14 days whether they are residents or citizens.
However, the quarantine will not be necessary if anyone arrives before July 4 11 PM.
Exemption From Ban
The authorities also clarified about the travelers who are exempted from the ban. The foreigners who have visited the said countries but left them, or any other county which is already in the travel restriction list, at least 14 days before arriving in the Kingdom.
The citizens of Saudi Arabia were allowed to travel to certain countries from MAy 17 with the condition that they have been vaccinated against Covid-19 or recovered against the disease.
Those Saudis who received only one dose of vaccination are required to wait for 14 days before flying abroad. However, those who recovered from the infection must wait for 180 days after testing negative for the flight.
In the months of January, KSA set 31st March to lift the suspension of international flights from all over the world. But the decision was postponed to allow the maximum number of citizens and residents to be vaccinated.
On Friday, the kingdom recorded 1338 new confirmed cases and 16 deaths related to Covid-19.
