Saudi Arabia has updated rules and regulations for the workers and the residents wishing to return back to the kingdom. The new guidelines cover everyone and none of the expatriates are exempted from it.

1– All passengers who test positive for coronavirus but in stable condition and don’t require hospitalization, must quarantine for a period of 10-14 days depending upon their health condition.
2- All carrier companies ( Saudi airlines, Flynas, PIA, etc,) must clearly mention on their websites that Saudi Government requires quarantine for those passengers who test positive on arrival and the traveler must have a valid health insurance to cover the expenses of covid-19 treatment. In other words, they must make an insurance check or buy a new policy.
3- Domestic workers ( maids, the cooks, etc) coming along with diplomats and their families are exempted from quarantine.
But those holding the diplomatic visa, their families, and their domestic workers must follow and adhere to the quarantine procedure at their homes according to the instruction and regulations approved by the Ministry of Health.
Guidelines About Medical Health Insurance
1- Travellers and visitors to KSA must have medical health insurance that covers the treatment of covid-19. However, the Residents and GCC citizens are not required to obtain insurance.
2- The insurance must cover all costs for the covid-19 treatment in outpatient clinics and the hospitals, including quarantine for a period of 14 days.
Guidelines About Vaccination Outside Saudi Arabia
1- As per GACA, The kingdom requires that all passengers must have valid proof of vaccination with one of the following vaccines.
- Pfizer-BioNTech – 2 Doses
- Oxford-AstraZeneca – 2 Doses
- Moderna – 2 Doses
- Johnson & Johnson’s – 1 Dose.
2- The vaccination certificates are required to be attested by the official health authorities from the countries where the doses are given.
3- The duration/gap between getting the final dose of vaccine ( the second dose of a two-dose vaccine or the first dose of a single-dose vaccine) should not be less than 14 days. The certificates may be varified upon arrival at the checkpoints of the kingdom.
4- The travelers must carry the certificate all the time during their stay in Saudi Arab or (proof of health status through applications and accredited programs in the Kingdom) The absence of the certificate may lead to legal fines and penalties including being banned to enter into the kingdom.
Fines, Penalties For The Violators.
The authorities have also announced the revised fines and penalties for the violators.
1- If anyone violates the quarantine period and gets caught while roaming outside, the fine is 200,000 Saudi Riyals or imprisonment for a period of 24 months or both. If the violators repeat the violations, the penalty shall be doubled.
2- Non-Saudi ( Residents, Foreign Workers) will be deported and banned from coming back into the kingdom for life after completing their sentence of 2 Years.
3- The passengers who don’t meet the criteria and the requirements shall be sent back from where they departed and the carrier shall bear the costs.
4- Travelers must keep vaccination certificates all the time. The violation may get them banned from entering the kingdom again.
