There are certain times when you decide to leave Saudi Arabia permanently. You may also want to leave the current sponsor and come back on a new visa. However, it is only possible once you have obtained a final exit visa. Jawazat is the only authority to issue it, and the ( Sponsor) kafeel, or the company is responsible for the procedure. Anyhow, You can also process the application.

However, The sponsor must grant permission for the process to take place, and also, there must be no dues on you, left unpaid.

Here we will cover the rules, laws, required documents, fees, procedure, validity, additional information, and FAQs for the final exit visa in Saudi Arabia. So before we start the guide about the latest method in 2020- 2021, first, let’s know about the rules, labor laws, and regulations.

Jawazat Saudi Arabia states the following rules and regulations before applying for a final exit visa.

No Traffic Fines Left Unpaid

Make sure that you pay all the traffic fines. The electronic system notifies immediately and stops the applicant from availing the service.

Fill the Final Exit Visa Form

While filling the form, make sure the details exactly match with the features available on your passport. After that, hand it over to the Sponsor. He will sign it and make an attestation from Ghurfa Tujariyah. Also, provide a copy of your iqama. Furthermore, keep in mind that any small mistake in filling the form can delay the process.

Rules to Visit Jawazat

The Jawazat won’t entertain you if you go there without the sponsor or a legal representative of your sponsor. Furthermore, It’s a rule that you cannot leave KSA unless your sponsor allows you to exit the kingdom.

Absher Fingerprint Registration

You must have enrolled in Absher with fingerprints. The new system needs every expat to register with Absher. So make sure that you are registered before applying.

As now the Jawazat is closed due to Corona pandemic, therefore the kafeel or the company will arrange it. Also, if you already have a final exit visa then you can ask the company to extend it. Because there are no flights or limited.

However, If you want to travel back to your native country, then you can use the “Awdah” service. you can access it through your Absher account. The service will help you to leave Saudi Arab by arranging flight tickets and other important procedures.

How To Apply For Final Exit Visa

To apply for the visa, you need the following documents and then start the final exit process, which we are going to discuss in detail.

Required Documents

The following documents are required.

  1. The final exit visa form correctly filled and attested by the employer.
  2. Original Passport of the applicant
  3. Original valid iqama of the applicant.
  4. A No Objection Letter, NOL, by the employer,
  5. For a domestic worker ( Saiq Khaas, personal driver, maid, etc.), the employer must provide a clearance form attested by a local recruitment agency or Maid Care Center. It should clearly state that the applicant has received all dues ( salaries, any arrears, end-of-service benefits, etc.)
  6.  In case an expat marries and divorces a Saudi national, then the divorce paper is required to present in Jawazat.

Procedure

The procedure is effortless; it is worth mentioning that if you are working in a company, the administration department carries out the process and informs you about the issuance of the visa. However, if someone is working with a kafeel, or the company allows to process the final exit visa, then he may need to follow the process.

It is good practice to make a file and gather all the required documents. Jawazat needs all the documents for legal purposes. So be well prepared

In the next step, schedule a visit to the jawazat office with your kafeel. Either he comes along with you or may send a legal representative. In both cases, the process will continue.

The kafeel will submit all the required documents. Jawazat will check for any mistake. And if everything goes fine, the authorities will keep the docs, and after a few days, jawazat will issue the final exit visa.

Final Exit Visa Fee

The most exciting part of the whole procedure is that Jawazat doesn’t charge any fee for the final exit visa in Saudi Arabia. Which means it is absolutely a free service. However, if your iqama is expired, then you need to renew it. For Iqama, you or the sponsor has to pay a fine, which is 500 riyals for the first time.

As per the rules, Jawazat doesn’t start the procedure on an expired iqama.

Check Final Exit Visa Status Online

To Check final exit visa status, you have two methods. In the first method, if you are checking the status for a dependant, then you can use the online service of Absher.

If the Jawazat has issued the visa, you will find it on the screen. Otherwise, you may have to wait a few more days.  The next step is printing it.

Printing Final Exit Visa

To print final exit visa in Saudi Arabia, you must have an account on the muqeem service. You can access this service through the Elm portal. But unfortunately, only the sponsor can use and print documents. It is a paid service, and sponsors pay an annual fee.

Therefore to get the print out of the visa paper, you need to ask the kafeel or company.

Final Exit Visa Validity

The issuance of the final exit visa takes a few days. But when it is issued, the validity period is 60 days from the day of issuance. If you have received it, then you must travel within two months.

We have observed that sometimes companies delay the payments of the benefits, arrears, and end of service. If that happens, then companies mostly renew iqama of the applicant and cancel the exit visa.

The applicant waits until he receives the end of service benefits. After giving the arrears, companies apply for the visa, and the applicant leaves KSA as soon as possible.

Additional Information

You can leave Saudi Arabia at any time. However, at the end of the contract is the best time. The reason is that you will get the full end of service benefits.

Also, the Company can’t force you to change your decision. And you can receive a handsome amount of money in return.

However, it is essential to inform the company by writing a letter or notice. You must notify your sponsor as per your contract.

Few sponsors need to be informed before one month while some sponsors want the application, letter, three months before the end of the contract.

You can write a simple letter, describing why you are willing to go on final exit. You can also mention family problems in the letter. But if you don’t want to say any reason, write that you are not willing to extend your contract.

After writing, hand over the exit letter to the concerned person. If you are not sure how to write it, you can find plenty of letter formats and samples on the internet.

FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

If you leave KSA on an exit re-entry visa, you need to come back and get a final exit visa. If you don’t return, Jawazat will impose a minimum ban of 3 years. And you won’t be able to enter the kingdom for the next three years.

Unfortunately, there is no mechanism to extend it. However, you can cancel it within 60 days.

You can check the final exit visa status by logging into your Absher account. In your dashboard, you can find the status of the visa.

The grace period that is allowed by Jawazat is 60 days. Anyone with a final exit visa must leave the kingdom within two months. If your employer wants to keep you on the job then he can cancel within the grace period without paying any fine.

Saudi laws don’t restrict anyone from coming back to the kingdom after the final exit. However, if someone is banned for a specific time period, then he can’t enter into Saudi Arabia until the restriction is over. For example, people deported due to huroob status, can’t come back for 5 years.

It is almost impossible to leave KSA without processing the exit visa. However, if you succeed in doing so, you will face a lot of troubles while trying to re-enter the kingdom. So always be on the safe side and do all the required legal procedures. So you may come back at any time as you want.
