How To Check New Iqama Number Issuance Status

Iqama is a legal document that the Saudi Government issues, allowing those foreigners to live and work in Saudi Arabia, who come on a work visa.

Iqama allows the expatriates to work and access various services, benefits, and activities, such as opening a bank account, buying a sim card, getting health insurance, entering government entities, buying a vehicle, and applying for a family visa to bring their loved ones to the KSA.

If you have reached Saudi Arabia on the job, you will definitely want to check your Iqama status to see if the Iqama number has been issued.

There are several methods to check iqama status, especially the Ministry of Labor’s portal – MOL, which has a dedicated service to check iqama number by using the border number.

Check Iqama Status with Border Number.

To check iqama number by using the border number, do the following procedure;

Visit the MOL Portal.
Checkmark the “Consent” and click on “أقر وأتعهد“- the Green button to proceed (see the image below)
Enter the Border number
Enter the Date of Birth
Type a 6-digit verification code and click on Next

If the new iqama has been issued, the system will show the iqama number and a few other details which are as follows;

Your Name
Worker Number (MOL issues it when the sponsor pays the maktab amal fees)
Your Working Status. (It means that you are present at your company and don’t have a huroob status)
Organization’s Nitaqat status. ( The organization can be in any nitaqat category depending upon the number of Saudi citizens employed )
And the status of the work license issued by MOL

Check Iqama Number With Passport Number

After the update in the system, it is no longer possible to check iqama status through the passport number. Anyway, let’s say iqama number has not been issued yet and the status is pending, then what other options do you have?

Actually, you can check whether the work permit and iqama fees are paid or still pending. In case the sponsor has paid the said fees then it means that the iqama number is about to issue within a few days. To find that;

Go to the Mol online web portal.
Select the service,”خدمة رخص العمل“
Enter the border number
Type the 6-digit Code
And hit the submit button – “بحث“

On the next screen, the system shows the work permit fee status. If it is showing as “تم السداد” then you may receive the iqama in a couple of days. Any other status except “تم السداد” means there is a delay in iqama number issuance.

Check Passport Number Online

In case you are unaware of your passport number then by using any of the given methods you can check Passport number in Saudi Arabia.

1- Physical / Offline Method

In the 1st method, if you have a physical passport, open it and on the very first page, you can find the passport number. Write it down or save it.

Online Method: Visit Muqeem Portal

In the 2nd method, You can check passport number online through Muqeem Portal.

Open Muqeem site by clicking here.
Enter your Iqama number
In the 2nd option enter your date of birth.
Now click on ‘Check ‘

The next window shows your Passport Number.

Sadly, you can’t check iqama status with the visa number because the system doesn’t allow and also there is no other service available anywhere you could use to find the new iqama number using visa number.

Iqama Status Not Found?

3 months passed since your arrival in Saudi Arabia, and still, the iqama number is not issued. In that case, you are eligible to transfer sponsorship.

Furthermore, you don’t need approval from the employer. Just find a new job and get transferred.
