Check huroob status on the Ministry of Labor’s portal
Workers who have been absent from their jobs for a long time without any solid reason are more likely to get huroob (absence report) on their iqama.
Further, those who come to KSA for the first time and get a job in a small company (having fewer than nine employees) might face the problem.
You can check huroob status using the service “الاستعلام عن موظف وافد,” which is available on the Ministry of Labor and Social Development’s website.
Required Details
- To check the absence report on the MOL KSA – Ministry of Labor, you need one of the following details;
- Iqama number
- Border number
- Passport number
- Date of Birth
- Absher credentials (optional)
Which Iqama Professions Can Inquire?
All workers whose work permits are issued by the Ministry of Labor can check huroob through these methods. And, for domestic workers, only house drivers or saiq khas can use the ministry’s portal.
Method 1
Check Huroob Status Using Iqama Number
Procedure:
- Click on the link to open the “الاستعلام عن موظف وافد” service on the Ministry of Labor’s Portal.
- Now enter the Iqama number in the “رقم الإقامة” field
- Enter the 6-digit captcha code and click the green button (“بحث“).
Status: At Work – علی راس العمل
This means there is no issue at all.
Status: Absent From Work – متغيب عن العمل
Your employer has reported your absence from work to the Labor Ministry.

Method 2
Use Passport Number ( If Iqama hasn’t been issued)
Procedure:
- Visit the MOL KSA web portal
- Enter your Passport number in the “رقم الجواز” field
- Enter Nationality from the drop-down list of الجنسية
- Now enter the Captcha code and click on “بحث“
- You can view if the absentee has been reported or not
Method 3
Find In Absher
There is no accurate way to check huroob through Absher because the portal doesn’t have any service to find the absentee report. So the only way is the MOL portal as described above.
However, it is worth noting that you will receive a message from Jawazat as soon as the report is filed in the maktab amal.
Procedure For Domestic Workers
We have observed that people who are domestic workers ( house drivers, maids, housekeepers, saiq khas), have more chances of getting huroob. Because it is in the hands of the kafeels or sponsors to report them as “Absent” with or without any solid reason.

However, after the implementation of the new kafala system, the role of kafeel is no longer in force. So the chances of iqama huroob have decreased significantly.
Now the sponsor can’t report absenteeism if the iqama of the domestic worker has expired. Furthermore, such workers can now transfer sponsorship with ease.
In addition to that, the domestic worker can transfer sponsorship to other employer through Qiwa portal.
Because these professions don’t fall under the Ministry of Labor’s nitaqat system. Therefore, their huroob status is not available on MOL platform. The domestic workers will get this message.
- لا يوجد عاملين بالمواصفات المسجلة
However, house drivers (saiq khas) can check their huroob status by using any of the method as explained above.
All other domestic workers have to visit Jawazat or Labor office known as maktab amal.
